IT'S ALL ABOUT THE HUNT
Southeast Kansas Outfitters is a small outfitting business. This is our 9th year in operation. we only book a small limited number of hunts each season unlike other outfitters and book hunts only to hunters that will be commited to do what ever it takes to harvest a trophy buck. We do not have a big fancy lodge and gourmet meals. But what we do have is some of finest Trophy Whitetail Hunting in the country! Time spent maintaining a lodge could be time spent in the woods. My guides and I are all dedicated hunters with over 80 years of combined hunting knowledge, we spend almost everyday of the year in the woods. This has attributed to our high success rate on trophy bucks! We are an outfitter for the serious hunter only. We only book a small limited number of hunts each season and book hunts only to hunters that will be committed to do whatever it takes to harvest a trophy buck. We encourage hunters to stay in their stands and hunt all day. The more hours you put in the stand, the better your odds of getting that trophy buck will be. Some of our biggest bucks killed were between the hours of 10:00 - 2:00.
Our hunters lodge in nice clean motels located close to our hunting property. Meals can be found in the many restaurants in town. Everything from McDonalds to the best steak houses in the state can be found in Pittsburg and surrounding areas. Due to Southeast Kansas Outfitters hunting in five different counties, we usually stay in the cities of Pittsburg or Parsons, which is centrally located to all our property. Most hunts are a 15-30 min. drive from the motels. We have found that most hunters prefer having the privacy of their own motel room to shower and relax after a long day in the stand, compared to a lodge filled with tired snoring hunters keeping them awake all night.
Hunters and guides gather for breakfast to prepare and discuss the day's hunt. Hunters have thier choice of hunting from heated Box blinds, tower stands, tree stands, ladder stands, and ground blinds. We use only quality stands. Guide will take all hunters to their stand in the morning and pick up hunters in the evening. Guide will stay in contact with hunters through out the day via radio or when needed. Hunts are on foot only, so hunters must be able to walk 1/4 to 1/2 mile to their stands. Guide will track, clean, and dress out your deer for you. We will cape out your trophy and prepare it for the taxidermist or trip home.
Above all hunters must take it serious if they want to harvest a Monster Buck. You don't just get LUCKY to consistently kill big bucks. Hunters must put in long hours in their stand and endure freezing weather waiting for that one chance to get a shot, and as we all know, Big Bucks usually only give you one chance! We spend countless hours scouting, watching, and patterning individual bucks. We use trail cameras to set your stand in the right place. You can be assured the area you are hunting has some quality bucks in it. All hunts are fair chase and S.E.K.O. does not guarantee hunters will harvest a buck, but we have had an excellent success rate with a 100% shot opportunity for all our hunters on bucks scoring 140 or better. I have personally guided hunters on 16 Boone & Crocket bucks over the past 7 years.
